Ali rizai
The Afghan Canadian Islamic Community has always been a huge part of my life from a very young age. I developed a great passion in being involved and doing what little I can, to see that the community continues to grow insh'Allah.
I have thorough experience in management and communications in business for 6+ years and currently hold this position of employment today. I had the privilege of being admitted into the ACIC Board of Directors and elected as Secretary in late 2019.
I am currently responsible for the various duties and tasks that come with this position. I am also actively involved with ACIC's Maktab, having the honour of teaching Quran to students - while being a part of the strong team of volunteers at Maktab. I hope you see me fit and give me the honour to serve our community, once more.

I have been involved in the ACIC community since childhood and have always had the privilege of benefitting from the programs put on by the Afghan Youth Committee. As a young adult I joined the AYC team and was able to give the youth of our community a productive space to grow socially and spiritually, just as I was given as a child. Since joining the AYC team in 2015 I have worked as an Executive and then as an Executive Lead since 2018. Through my experience on AYC and my degree in Interdisciplinary Social Science I have developed the skills and techniques to lead the AYC team and to continue to promote youth engagement and empowerment, inshAllah!

Alhamdulillah ACIC has been a part of most of my life from when I was younger and my parents brought me to ACIC. Later on growing spiritually through listening to Lecturers and attending Maktab classes as well, ACIC was fundamental in shaping me to the person I am today and I want to continue to contribute to ACIC myself for the future of the community. I was the IT lead in 2021 and want to continue in my role for 2022.
